Surface treatment is necessary for rail fastening to prevent corrosion and wear, ensuring the safety and longevity of the system. Treatments like galvanizing protect fasteners from environmental factors and chemical damage, which could otherwise weaken them and lead to critical failures due to the high stresses they endure. This prevents corrosion from weakening the joints and ensures the fasteners maintain their structural integrity.

In traditional railway bolts once the shaft is wound into the end grain and joined to the second member is necessary to place a washer and a nut on to the end of the bolt shaft and tighten, here lies the difficulty and frustration but not with the Railway bolt. According to related rail track standards, each joint needs to be bolted with at least two railway bolts in each rail tightened to approximately 400 foot-pounds of torque which develops between 25,000, and 30, 000 pounds of tension in the railway bolts.

Prior to shipment, railway fasteners must undergo strict classification and protective pre-treatment. Products are segregated by material (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.) and precision grade to prevent friction damage between different types. For threaded fasteners, specialized anti-rust grease is applied to the threads, which are then individually wrapped with abrasion-resistant non-woven fabric to prevent corrosion or deformation. For fasteners with elastic-plastic properties (such as elastic washers, spring clips), custom grooved plastic liners are used for fixation to avoid elastic failure caused by compression. All pre-treated products are grouped and packaged in fixed quantities. Each group is securely bound with strapping bands to ensure no loosening within the group, laying the foundation for subsequent multi-layer packaging.
