The Ss35 screw spike is made of high-strength carbon steel or alloy steel, available in strength grades 4.6, 5.6, and 8.8, and complies with UIC864-1 international standards. Through hot forging, tempering, and precision thread rolling, this screw spike offers excellent mechanical performance, including high tensile strength, stable yield strength, and good elongation. Its well-designed threads provide a secure grip in the sleeper, ensuring reliable and firm rail fastening.

To use sleeper screws, you first prepare your sleepers by positioning them. Then, you drive the long, sturdy timber screws (sometimes called sleeper screws) through the face of one sleeper and into the end of another to create a corner or a strong joint.

Step 1: Position the sleepers

• Place the sleepers in their final position, ensuring they are level and aligned as desired.For corners, make sure they are at a 90° angle.

Step 2: Prepare for screwing

• For added stability or if you are joining multiple sleepers, position support plates or brackets at the joints.If using stainless steel screws on hardwood like oak, pre-drilling is essential to prevent splitting and staining. For other types, pre-drilling can still help reduce splitting.Drill pilot holes with a bit slightly smaller than the screw's diameter if you are pre-drilling. For carbon steel screws with a Type 17 point, pre-drilling may not be necessary.

Step 3: Drive the screws

• Use a hex head bit in an impact driver or drill to drive the screw through the face of the first sleeper into the end of the second.Drive the screw so that it penetrates both sleepers significantly, ideally with at least 50mm of the screw's length embedded in the second sleeper. This ensures a strong connection.If using a bracket, drive screws through the bracket's holes into both the ground and the sleeper for a secure anchor.

Step 4: Finish the project

• For a clean look, countersink the screw heads so they are flush or slightly below the wood's surface.

Each screw is treated with anti-rust oil and packed in double woven bags, fumigation-free pallets, or steel pallets, with specifications and batch numbers clearly marked to ensure safe transport and convenient installation.
