They can also be customized in materials and structures according to different track types and usage environments, offering properties such as wear resistance, anti-aging, and low-temperature resistance. They are adaptable to various complex working conditions, including conventional railways, high-speed railways, heavy-haul railways, and urban rail transit. Maintenance of rail pads requires setting inspection cycles based on track type: monthly for high-speed railways, every half-month for urban rail transit, quarterly for conventional railways, and more frequent inspections for heavy-haul railways as needed.

 

Key checks include wear, cracks, deformation, detachment, aging, and insulation performance, with proper record-keeping. Daily maintenance involves promptly removing dust, debris, oil stains, and other foreign materials from the rail pads and surrounding areas. Special working conditions, such as mining or port areas, require increased cleaning frequency to avoid deformation or material corrosion caused by hard debris. Minor cracks or localized wear can be repaired with specialized elastic adhesive. Severe deformation, extensive damage, detachment, or insulation failure necessitates immediate replacement with a product of the same specifications.

During replacement, ensure tight contact between the rails and sleepers. For special environments, take protective measures: inspect for brittleness and hardening in extremely cold regions before winter and replace with low-temperature-resistant materials as needed. In high-temperature, humid, or saline-alkali areas, regularly apply anti-aging and anti-corrosion protective agents to prevent material degradation.

 

Additionally, develop batch replacement plans based on material lifespan: rubber rail pads typically last 5–8 years, while polyurethane pads last 8–12 years, thereby avoiding safety risks from extended service beyond their lifespan.
