Railway Turnout Assembly Construction Standards: Laying a Solid Foundation for Safe Operation
Aug 19, 2025
As a critical component of the track system, railway turnouts' construction quality directly impacts the safety and stability of train operations. To ensure the installation accuracy and long-term reliability of turnout assemblies, the company strictly adheres to national railway industry standards and internationally recognized practices, developing a scientific and rigorous construction standard system.
1. Material and Component Acceptance
Before turnout assembly construction, all core components, such as rails, switches, and switches, undergo rigorous quality inspection to ensure that the materials meet high-strength and wear-resistance requirements, and a third-party inspection report is provided. Component dimensional tolerances are controlled within ±0.5mm, and the surface is free of cracks, deformation, and other defects.
2. Installation Accuracy Control
High-precision measuring instruments (such as total stations and track gauges) are used during construction to ensure that the turnout gauge deviation is ≤±1mm, the levelness error is ≤2mm/km, and the switch contact strength meets design standards. The gap between key areas, such as the point rail and the stock rail, is strictly controlled within a range of 0.5-1.0mm to prevent impact from passing trains.
3. Tightening and Commissioning
High-strength locknuts are used for bolt connections, and torque values are strictly adhered to design requirements and re-tightened regularly. After turnout installation, dynamic commissioning is required to test train smoothness and the reliability of the switch equipment, ensuring accurate switch timing and locking position.
4. Acceptance and Maintenance
After completion, the turnout undergoes static geometric dimensional inspection, electrical performance testing, and multi-wheel EMU track rolling testing. The company maintains digital archives to record the construction parameters of each turnout set, providing data support for subsequent maintenance.
Strict adherence to standards demonstrates the company's commitment to safety. Going forward, we will continue to optimize our processes to ensure unimpeded rail transportation with even higher standards.
