What are the types of rail bolts?

Track bolt types include fish bolts for joining rails with fish plates, anchor bolts to fasten rails to sleepers or tie plates, T-bolts for securing rail clips, and clip/clamp bolts used in various fastening systems. Other types include diamond neck and button head oval neck bolts, and hook/fang bolts used for specific applications like securing sleepers to bridge girders.

 

 

 

 

Fish bolts are bolts for fastening fishplates. Railway fishplates are generally used at the joints of two rails on the railway to fix the two sections of steel rails. Fishbolt need to be used in conjunction with nuts. When purchase, please choose the fishbolts that match the aperture size and the thickness of the fishplate.As far as rail fish bolts are concerned, fish bolts with button head oval neck and diamond neck are most popular, with specifications as below:

1.Clip bolt

 

Clip bolt, with the use of rail clip. In the high speed WJ-7 rail fastening system, T-bolt and B1 anchor bolt are required. They need match with elastic rail clips.

 

2.Clamp bolt

 

In the KPO clamp rail fastening system, we use HS bolt match with KPO clip.

 

3.Frog bolt

 

As an important part of the railway line, railway frog requires the use of special strength of rail bolts, known as frog bolts.

A portion of the anchor bolt is embedded in the base (usually a concrete construction), and the exposed portion is fixed to the track by fitting with other fasteners.
