Gantry Crane Rail is a rail system specifically designed to provide running pathways for gantry cranes. Similar to overhead crane rails, it must withstand high-intensity, frequent cyclic wheel loads while ensuring lateral and longitudinal stability, guaranteeing smooth and safe operation during loading, handling, or yard operations.
Gantry crane rails are usually made of crane rails, with common models including QU70, QU80, QU100, and QU120. Rail profile selection depends on the crane's tonnage, wheel load, span, and operation frequency. The rail cross-section is wider and thicker than ordinary railway rails, with a widened base to enhance lateral stability. Rail pads, crane rail clips, and high-strength bolts secure the rails to concrete beams or steel structures, preventing lateral slippage or longitudinal movement under heavy loads.
