what is a rail clamp?

Before shipment, the packaging of railway fasteners must go through pre-treatment and internal protection procedures to ensure product integrity and corrosion resistance during transportation and storage.
First, all fasteners are thoroughly cleaned to remove any oil residue or production impurities. Then, a basic anti-rust treatment is applied-commonly by immersing the fasteners in rust inhibitors followed by natural air-drying, or by individually wrapping each component with VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) paper. This step effectively isolates the metal surface from moisture and air exposure, preventing corrosion.
Next, fasteners are classified by type and size. Bolts, nuts, and washers of the same model are packed into custom plastic inner boxes, with EPE (expanded polyethylene) foam padding placed at the bottom and around the sides for impact absorption. Each box is clearly labeled with the product name, specification, and quantity to avoid mix-ups.
For larger components such as elastic rail clips or rail gauge blocks, individual kraft paper wrapping is used, leaving an appropriate buffer space to prevent surface abrasion or deformation during handling. This meticulous inner packaging ensures each fastener remains protected, organized, and ready for safe external packing and international shipment.
