What are the application areas of Rail Pads?
Rail pads are applied in various areas of railway and crane systems, including urban rail transit (subways, light rail), high-speed railways, and industrial crane rails, to cushion vibrations, reduce noise, and protect components from wear. They are placed between the rail and the sleepers or subgrade to distribute loads and absorb impacts from passing trains or moving equipment.

Application areas
- Urban rail transit: Used in subways, light rail, and urban railways where noise and vibration are significant concerns due to their proximity to populated areas.
- High-speed railways: Employed in high-speed rail systems to maintain stability and minimize vibrations transmitted to the trackbed.
- Crane rails: Placed under industrial crane rails to absorb the shocks and vibrations from heavy lifting equipment, protecting both the rail and the structure it's mounted on.
- General railway tracks: Applied in conventional railway systems to reduce wear and tear on sleepers and rails caused by the concentrated forces of train wheels.

Key functions
- Vibration and noise reduction: They absorb and damp vibrations, which reduces both audible noise and the transmission of vibrations to the surrounding environment and structures.
- Load distribution: They spread the concentrated force from the train wheels over a larger surface area of the sleeper, preventing excessive stress and deformation.
- Impact absorption: They act as a cushion to absorb impacts, which extends the service life of the rail and sleeper components.
- Wear and abrasion prevention: They protect the sleeper from abrasion and crushing, which is caused by the direct contact with the rail.
