What is the difference between clips and clamps?

Railroad clamps, other names are rail clip or rail fixing clip, is kind of device to be fixed on tracks to prevent the train from moving or passing a given point to the ground (as at platforms or on stub tracks) to avoid accidents. Rail clamps have basic features of boltable, self-locking, adjustable with fine tolerance and high clip strength.

 

 

What is the difference between clips and clamps?

 

The main difference is that rail clamps exert a much stronger fixing force than rail clips, making clamps suitable for heavy-duty applications like crane rails, while clips are designed for continuous elastic support in standard railway tracks. Rail clips are part of an elastic fastening system, while rail clamps are used when a higher clamping force is required for robust immobilization.
